County Durham Local Involvement Network (LINk) has been set up to give local people a stronger voice in how their health and social care services are run.
The LINk is an independent network of local people, groups and organisations and its priorities will be decided by local people.
The LINk is supported by a ‘Host’ organisation which will provide support and guidance as appropriate. In County Durham, this is the Pioneering Care Partnership.
Anyone who lives or works in County Durham over the age of 14 can become a member of the LINk. The LINk is free to join.
What will the LINk do?
County Durham LINk will help local people, groups and organisations to speak with one voice and have real influence over key decision makers within the local NHS, Durham County Council and organisations who provide health and social care services.
County Durham LINk will be able to
- Obtain the views of people about their needs for, and experience of, local health and social care services and make reports and recommendations on these views
- Enable people to monitor and review the commissioning and provision of care services
- Enter and ‘view’ certain local health and social health and care services
- Develop positive working relationships with those responsible for commissioning, providing, managing or scrutinising local health and social care services
